I think I've read of this story before but not about you losing the little paper with her number on it. Your story is probably one of the few geniunely cute ones I've ever heard. Cool stuff. ~Monique

As a hopeless romanic, I always love hearing this story. If you parse it closely, however, it is clear that there was never any reason for you to despair that Loveleen wouldn't call you.

Your logic seems sound enough: a GIG (good Indian girl) would never take the initiative to telephone a guy -- one that she's known ten years, much less one that she's known ten minutes. But, there is ample evidence that Loveleen was not a GIG. Oh sure, she's awfully good, and 100% girl. But Indian? I think not. Otherwise, she'd never have refused an opportunity to honk the horn of your bike, even (or especially) if there seemed no conceivable reason for honking it.

You should have seen immediately that Loveleen was not truly Indian, and therefore that you were still in the game.

(Another helpful test for sussing out real Indians can be administered at the movies. If they watch the closing credits: they are faking it. Of course this method would have required a first date.)
